MMF Board Member
Founder, Echo Beach Management
What drew you to a board role?
I was honoured at the 2018 AMA Awards, winning Producer / Writer Manager of the Year, which lead to my deeper involvement with the MMF, joining the board in 2019. I was asked to be Vice Chair in 2025.
What did you bring to the table?
My appointment was the first time a chair or vice chair at the MMF has not managed a recording artist. The fact that I have built my business representing producers and songwriters and the MMF felt it was time to recognise and highlight the role of songwriters / producers in the music ecosystem, felt really important to me. I was daunted at first, feeling that there were many conversations around artist management that I couldn’t have an informed view on, but my experience on the board has taught me that you bring your own world experience and it’s that diversity amongst the board member experience that brings strength.
What do you wish you had understood earlier?
That you don't have to know everything. No one does! My learning curve has been steep but so rewarding and I really feel I have been able to represent the issues my community of music makers face and the MMF has been so supportive of allowing and supporting it. We are a broad church of people and it’s the diversity that makes it so powerful.
What advice would you give to women considering a board role?
Just do it. Women need to be better at putting ourselves forward for these roles. We have as much right to be at the table as the men and from my experience working with the MMF which has a majority of female board members, I can honestly say we are better for it!
